This is an early gold bond certificate from the 'Potomac Steam Boat Company.' Issued to Charles Chauncey Savage (who signs as president) in 1878. Payable at the offices of the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Rail Road Company in Richmond, VA or Philadelphia, PA. It has an attractive vignette up top and gold underprint. It measures about 14" x 14" including the coupons, as shown. Clean condition with the original, even folds.
