  • Condition: Both hangers in very good condition. Hanger with squared slits has a hairline separation where woods were joined, but is repairable. Very light surface scuff on back of hanger. Also, the finish on the back of the arched slits hanger has some "pooled" varnish finish that happened during manufacturing. Does not affect function. See photos.

    Description

    2 vintage mid-century modern wood "Pants-Rax" closet hanger for trousers, slacks & skirts," Gline&Co., Glenbrook, CT.  Both have excellent preservation.  Hanger with squared slits has a very thin straight separation of where the woods were joined, goes through label.  Did not attempt repairs as was purchased from an estate, but appears could be easily glued.  Second hanger with arched slits is in excellent condition with no observable structural flaws. There is what appears to be some "pooling" of varnish on back of hanger that most likely happened during manufacture. See photos - taken with and without flash.
    Sixth photos shows hanger as it would be placed on the closed rod.  (It's not floating in air.)  Metal brackets are bright with no rust.  They lift upward for "bump" at end to hang on closet rod.  Warm honey-colored wood finish on both is beautiful and is typical of 1940s-50s "modern."  Most likely used best with light to medium weight clothes.
