    Antique Blue & White Brush Pot (Bitong) Qing Dynasty, Guang Xu Period
    1875-1908 Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, China
    Magnificent porcelain brush pot of cylindrical form, hand painted in a slightly raised format with idyllic landscape scenes with rocky mountains, trees and fisherman in underglaze blue with white ground and outline. This lovely little stoneware brush pot (bitong) beautifully exemplifies this traditional form with the classical artistry of Chinese blue and white ceramics. Bitong is in good condition. Wear is consistent with age and use. Crazing, fritting and glazing flaws. See pictures for details. Measures 4"H x 2.75"D.
