century in the Republic of China period after the Qing dynasty in 1912.
The brush pot in a cylindrical form has hand painted a lotus plant with huge leaves, stems, and blossomed red flowers.
The biological name of the lotus flower is called
Nelumbo nucifera
, which is also known as Sacred lotus, Indian lotus, or simply lotus, belongs to the family Nelumbonaceae. The bottom of the pot is stamped under glaze in red “
江西楊吉盛出品
”, meaning “Produced by Jiangxi Province Yang Jisheng”.
Measures: Dimensions, 4 ¾” high x 3 1/8” rim diameter; Weight, 13.9 oz (394 grams).
Condition: Very good and clean, with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
