Custom Built Rallycross TEIN 16-Way Coilover Suspension
For 2008 - 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution  X GSR / MR
Here you are bidding on a used but good working condition suspension system by TEIN for the 2008+ Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Based around TEIN's twin-tube Street Flex 16-way adjustable coilover, this system was completely custom rebuilt and revalved by TEIN USA for rallycross and camera car work. This setup uses custom length springs (notice how much longer they are than standard coilover springs) and custom internal valves and shim stacks. Originally, the schematics were drawn up by TEIN USA R&D in CA and the internal valves were built in Japan and shipped here. Was originally about 00 for the setup.
The suspension is designed to be run at near stock ride height up front, lowering is minimal - maybe 0.5" up front, but is set to about 1" of lowering in the rear. Uses 6kg/mm front and 5kg/mm rear springs. That's almost twice as stiff as stock but provides a smoother ride quality with less jiggles and better body control.
This setup is NOT designed for super low, on the ground stance look. It IS designed for a smoother, more comfortable ride, and the ability to soak up road undulations and surfaces. If you intend to do local rallycross, mountain roads, or go fast over smooth packed logging roads - this is the setup for you. With the higher spring rate, it does pretty well at the track as well.
Was removed from a 2014 Lancer Evo X GSR after about 15k miles. No leaking, noises, or damage.
Note that this is a used item and is being sold as such. There is normal wear as to be expected of its use and the actual item being sold is pictured. Note that the perch adjustment wrenches and damping adjustment tool are not included. Damping can be adjusted by hand by turning the upper knob and the ride height does not offer that much range regardless.
