This is an original 1973 Broadway Play Script titled, "Gone with the Wind" which was used in the production of the actual play. The Alternate Title for this musical is "SCARLETT".  This is not like all of the other playbills and play books you see, this is the actual script used during the production of the play. THIS DRAFT IS DATED JULY 1973, PLEASE READ THE 'MORE INFORMATION' SECTION BELOW TO SEE EXACTLY WHEN THIS SCRIPT WAS USED. Furthermore, this script was used right before the scheduled Broadway run was to set to start, but the Broadway play was eventually cancelled for negative reviews.
This script is extremely rare and was used by actor 'Tucker Smith' in the Pre-Broadway plays which ran at the
Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. Some of the pages inside have his handwritten markings and annotations.
This 2-Act Play Script is a total of 103 pages long with: 58 pages for Act 1 & 45 pages for Act 2.

GONE WITH THE WIND (Alternate Title - Scarlett) is a 1970 musical with a score by Harold Rome. The original 1966 Japanese book is by Kazuo Kikuta, and was translated to English by Horton Foote. Based on Margaret Mitchell's 1936 bestseller Gone with the Wind, it traces the fate of self-centered Southern belle Scarlett O'Hara and her passionately turbulent relationship with dashing blockade runner Rhett Butler from the days prior to the American Civil War through the war itself and the following period of Reconstruction.
The production opened in January 1970 with the title Scarlett.
In 1972, the musical would be given its western/English language debut in London. It had a new book adapted by Horton Foote and was rechristened Gone with the Wind. The West End version, produced by Harold Fielding and again directed by Joe Layton, opened at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane with a cast headed by June Ritchie, Harve Presnell, Patricia Michael, and Robert Swann. There was an attempt to trim the show's length to the standard 2.5 hours for a stage show in the West but it still ran close to four hours long. The majority of reviews praised Ritchie's Scarlett and were duly impressed by Layton's staging; however, they criticized Foote's adaptation of the story, which relied heavily on the audience's prior knowledge of the characters and plot and as a result was sketchy in its presentation of both. Still, Fielding was encouraged enough to announce a Broadway opening for April 7, 1974.
In August 1973, a revised version of the London production was mounted at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles by the city's Civic Light Opera Association, with Lesley Ann Warren, Pernell Roberts, Udana Power, and Terence Monk in the leads. The strongly negative reviews prompted Layton to make numerous changes throughout the Los Angeles and subsequent San Francisco runs, but Fielding cancelled his plan to take the show to Broadway.

Any scripts printed or used in any fashion after filming has completed are known as either a reproduction or a post-production script. These two types of scripts are much less valuable and desirable. All of our scripts are "Original."
• An original movie script has a lot of character in the item itself and every one of them is different in some way or another. There is usually only one script given to each crew member during production, however, sometimes they do get more than one. This makes original movie scripts very desirable because of how scarce they are. Any changes made to the screenplay during production are known as revisions and these revision pages are inserted into that one script that was issued out to them. For example, if we are talking about a low-budget film with a small cast and only a few crew members, there are actually only a small number of scripts in existence around the world for that film. This aspect of collecting makes it fun but also difficult because there may be a certain writer or director that you love to collect and there may only be a handful of movie scripts that still exist from that specific film that you are looking for. We have some of the rarest movie scripts in the world.
Each film project has a different total number of scripts that are issued. The older a film is you also have to figure in the fact that a lot of the original movie scripts have been thrown out or destroyed over time. We do our best to provide the widest selection of original movie scripts in the world. Whatever actor, producer, director, writer or specific film department you are looking for, we probably have a movie script related to the person you are looking for in some form or fashion.
