There are some normal splits to the bamboo from age, but nothing that compromised the integrity. Both would hold water even without the copper liners.

    Fresh from an estate and offered for
    purchase
    is this wonderful matching pair of old vintage or antique bamboo brush pots. They are intricately hand-carved in deep relief with some bamboo stalks having pass-throughs behind them. They are slightly oval at the top and measure 4.5" to 5" diameter x 8.5" tall. Both have copper liner inserts. Condition of both is very good with natural all over age and patina showing but the carving is fully intact with no broken, missing, or repaired pieces. There are some normal splits to the bamboo from age, but nothing that compromised the integrity. Both would hold water even without the copper liners. They would also make great Ikebana vases. A nice addition to any collection...
