Superb c1850s Chinese Export Porcelain Rose Mandarin Cylinrical Vase Brush Pot
Presented is a lovely antique Chinese export porcelain vase, or perhaps a brush
pot, dating to around the 1840s-1860s. The vase is cylindrical in form, done in
a colorful Rose Mandarin pattern, featuring scenes of scholars in traditional
garb and setting, done in low relief in recessed panels. Between the panels with
figural scenes are flying insects and foliage, with a rich floral border around
the top and bottom and gilt detailing throughout.
The vase is in great overall condition. There is a small spider hairline to
the underside, but it looks to be only in the glaze, it isn't visible on the
inside. No chips, no repairs.
The vase stands about 4 ¼ inches tall, and measures about 2 ½ inches in
diameter.
