Sutro Sisters Musical Manuscripts Hand Transcribed The Pirates Adieu Cadenza

Description

Three sets of hand notated sheet music from the collection of Rose and Ottilie Sutro. Found with the other pieces of music we have listed, this includes “Le Forban”, “Adieu!”, and “Cadenza”. While “Forban” and “Adieu!” Are complete, “Cadenza” may not be. “Cadenza” is scored for two pianos with two full staffs while “Adieu” is also scored for two pianos, it has two G Clefs and one Bass clef per line of music and “Forban” is scored in single notation. “Forban” and “Adieu” have words and music with “Adieu” being labeled on the front as by William Pegram and Stephen Steinmuller.  “Le Forban” or “the Pirate” is in French, and the writing is quite light. All three pieces have some chipping and fading as well as soiling at the edges. They are in a heavy Manila folder with some discoloration at the edges as well. All three are hand written.
