Rare Vintage Wedgwood U. S. Naval Academy Commemorative Plate - made in England. This transferware plate measures approximately 10" inches across, and has an ivory background with mulberry images. The plate has a decorative nautical-themed border, with a central image featuring the
Old Midshipmen Quarters
on
the Naval Academy campus. The back of this plate carries the manufacturer's marks: "Wedgwood - Etruria, England --
Sole Importers - Jones, McDuffee & Stratton - Boston
". The Wedgwood impressions/incisions are also present.
This plate was part of a large Wedgwood collection that was carefully stored away for many years, and it is in excellent condition - no crazing, chips, cracks, stains, or repairs anywhere on this item. This is an absolutely beautiful plate that is in excellent condition.
