乾隆朝财力鼎盛,造就此景泰蓝极致工艺之作。此景泰蓝绣球花纹松石绿釉笔筒的掐丝极精细,百年依然釉色莹润,包浆老道漂亮；绣球花纹寓意一团和气，筒内和筒底施松石绿釉。景泰蓝中的收藏佳品。
皮球花纹是一种典型瓷器装饰纹样。以多个大小不一、花色不同的团花，似有规则似无规则地排列构成图案，宛如跳动的花皮球。皮球花纹的基本单位是团花，即圆形适合纹样。团花纹成熟于隋代，隋唐陶瓷器上较为常见，明、清两代团花纹再度盛行，且内涵远比隋唐时期要丰富，表现手法主要是彩绘。皮球花纹与团花纹的区别主要在运用方法及其意趣上。皮球花纹较小，排列自由活泼，不刻求均衡，皮球花纹样则多似绣球，故而清代人称之为“绣球纹”。以清雍正朝斗彩皮球花纹器物最为著称。北京故宫博物院藏雍正斗彩皮球花纹罐、斗彩皮球花纹碗是典型作品。乾隆珐琅彩皮球花纹镂空交泰葫芦瓶，纹样新颖，别具一格。
